GET STOKED!!!

Sled Recovery Mission Part 1

KT, Lance, Bill and I went for a sled recovery mission yesterday.. I guess you could say we made it halfway out with Lance's blown 800R. KT and the turbo HCR came through pretty nice, after we took out the motor and other essential parts we were able to get the machine halfway up the last ridge. From here it is a 10 mile down hill tow out. We got the engine, pipes, clutches and tons of other parts out at least. The last climb is just too gnarly... we need some cold weather so we can hit it first light on a cold morning when things are setup better.

We have to go way way up there. Over those corniced ridges

200 lbs of ski-doo engine and parts. Ready to tow

As far as we got, going on 7pm in this photo.. halfway up the last ridge/hill climb. 45-50 degree, here we have used the sleds as anchors staggered up the hill. Using rope, snatch block and pullies we got it this far.

WEKNOWSNOW BACKCOUNTRY TOOLS

The FindMeSPOT API lives, it has been redesigned and integrated into the new weknowsnow. Simply add your SPOT unit id to your profile and follow the directions to have your SPOT messages and locations syndicated and mapped. You can choose to have just your messages displayed or your full location and map. Giving you the option to keep those secret stashes secret....

What else is new? Added Colorado CAIC Avalanche reports to the AVY/SNOW tab. Added an hourly update of the current snowfall reports with webcams related via geolocation!

In addition, we've added Topographical, Google Earth, and Live Nexrad Weather overlays to all of the maps on the site. The number of Snotel stations you can choose has been increased to 30 and the history is now set at 3 days vs. 1 day. Let us know if you have any improvements or ideas.

MOUNTAIN ZONES

After reading Jeremy Jones' latest post, it got me thinking about all the sick zones, chutes and mountains we hit this season.

Here are some photos of those lines and zones. Almost time for MTB and fly fishing season.

DAY 2 BLUEBIRD

A couple of shots from yesterday.. went to one of the new zones under a clear blue sky.
