Still boney in noco

Got out today with Jason and Tim Bushmann.  Northern CO needs some snow.  8-12" on road in.  Didnt get good till 11k ft and even then there were thin areas.  Needed to hit north face in areas behind trees that were wind loaded.  Also some trees on the trails in.  This one there was no getting by with how many logs were right off trail.  16 proclimb can sidehill steep with the bmfab narrow boards and panels.  Very impressed.  Clutching needs work though.  Putting a 43 helix like the spring demos had.  48s the fall sleds have dont have enough punch down low and back shift above 11k ft with 21 49 gearing 7 tooth 3" and 285 primary  spring.  Also gonna try some MDS weights.  They work well in Mac (Wyoboy1000) 16 team

45 min for each cut or both?   I might need to invest in one, never carried one.  But that has me thinking otherwise.
How's those alpha boots treating ya?  I hear they're light and warm..

45 min total for both.

45 min total for both.  It cuts really quick for what it is.  It's actually called a survivalTOUGH 36" pocket chain saw.  They have a 48" version too.  We were using the 36".  It packs like it's nothing.  Alpha boots are working great.  So nice getting them on/off compared to traditional laces.  I wear motorfist wool socks with them.  Feet have been warm so far.

Yup, glad I had one in the

Yup, glad I had one in the pack.  Those little hand saws wouldn't have done it.  Even with a rope chain saw it still took us 45min-1hr.  2 cuts.  We were pretty much beat by the time we got it cut.

We had planned to go to

We had planned to go to another area but when we got here gate was closed and road was plowed cause of logging, so packed up and went elsewhere.  Didnt think id need the chain saw yesterday.  Good thing I now pack a sabercut hand chain saw now.  Or else we couldnt have cut this thing.  You and me cut one about this same size in the exact same spot on this trail a few years ago with our stihls.  So Im sure you know where this is ;)
