thx
thanks dude.. lets go rip w/ your new HCR
New HCR??? NICE!!! 2010 or
New HCR??? NICE!!! 2010 or 2009?
I wish 2011, but...
I picked up a new 09 HCR from extreme power sports in Steamboat a couple weeks ago. Nell and I put 60 break-in-miles on it that weekend and the sled started coming alive around mile 50 with increase power and performance...even at half throttle. I did note that the steering with pretty stiff on the trails, especially the first 30 or so miles...is that normal? The limiter strap is at the losses setting should I check something else? Can't wait to get out with the crew!
I just bought an 09 m1000
I just bought an 09 m1000 from them too. Last sled I buy from them. Hacks is the best way to describe this "shop", especially since I'm a mechanic myself.
About 20 miles down the trail on the new sled it all of a sudden wouldn't move. Guess what? The secondary clutch bolt was completely loose. Only being held in place by the side panel itself! My guess is they took off this clutch at some point and never tightened the bolt back down when they put it back on. Luckily didn't take my clutch and motor out!
My ski steering was tight as shit too. I put the grease gun on them. I got a TON of grease to go in them. When they were near full a TON of RUSTED WATER came out the top. Horse shit. This should have been checked again if a sled is sitting outside in those conditions for 2 years. Complete lack of care at Extreme Powersports in Steamboat. I replaced my Diamond Drive oil and put in a double row angular contact 5203- 2RS bearing after 50 miles. I'd suggest you do the same within the first couple hundred miles cause that crappy bearing can make the Diamond Drive go Kaboom.
Just open a shop already...
Thanks bro!!! I wish you guys had a shop! You'd own the front range market for CAT and PO at least. Thanks for the advice, I'll pm you with updates.
good idea
