Colorado Backcountry: Fly Fishing IPW - Blue Lake - 08.06.2007

Took Bones up fishing in the late afternoon, we scored some nice cutties. I was pretty stoked to have Bones on this trip, as no one wanted to fish anywhere near us! Thanks bro.

What just happened? We still really don't know, but it seems we are plus 9 on the good fish karma. Went to explore a new spot in Indian Peaks Wilderness and it was simply amazing. Bushwhacked most of the day and probably did another 10 miles or so. We got some weird looks from people at the trailhead as Alex was in Chacos and I was in my Keens. I caught mostly brookies, and a couple of nice cuts. Alex taught the brookies a less as well and slayed the lake cuts.... I think he even scored a nice lake rainbow. The pictures:

Colorado Backcountry: “Red Fox” aka BC Hilton - Part 4 - 08.01.2007

Met up with the crew on K's property near Tabernash. Finished up the loft/bunk area roof and walls. Installed the 3rd window over the bunk area and added some shutters. Front door and one last window, then its on to the floor and kitchen area.

K&A finished the loft after I left on Sunday. Today we started sealing the windows, building the bunk system, finished sealing the roof and figured out where the other two windows are gonna go. A few shots from today at the cabin. Getting closer!

Em and I went fishing up in Indian Peaks last night. It's nice to leave town and be on the water in 45 minutes or so. After a mile or so hike we caught a couple of lake cuts and a small brookie. Spent the morning putting in another 5 or so hours working on the cabin with the crew. Long day!

We got some major work done on the cabin this week, but I broke a fukkkkking window already! Got a good amount of the roof done, sealed the roof, built supports for the loft and bunks are set. Installed two windows, added frames on the inside of the new windows, new supports for the front half of the cabin, and framed out the front door.
