Colorado Backcountry: Fly Fishing Fathers Day - Indian Peaks - 06.17.2007

My dad picked me up super early this morning and we up into the high country to have some fun, hike around, and scout some new fly fishing areas. Now my dad is used to the big waters of Wyoming and Montana so it's hard to motivate him to get out in search of the "little guys". We had a great time, weather was nice and cool -- a bit windy, which made fishing the lakes harder. We stuck to the in-lets and out-lets mostly. My dad was the "guide" for this little excursion, he gave me a bunch of pointers and I ended up hooking a small brookie! We were Nymphing and he took a small Pheasant Tail Bead Head.
