Colorado Outward Bound Relay: 170 miles or bust
The 10th Annual Colorado Outward Bound Relay is only one day away. This will be the fifth year for me and I’m more stoked than ever to run up and down mountain passes and trails. Training has been going really well this year as I’ve only had a couple of minor setbacks. I’ve been running farther and longer this summer and I feel great. This year I have leg #7, the knee and quad killer leg, where I run Guanella pass, Vail Pass, and then through part of Glenwood Canyon. The scenery surely can’t be beat, but I hope my knees and hips hold up to the abuse.
Each year 150 teams from all over compete in the relay. The race begins in Idaho Springs and ends in Glenwood Springs. Each team has 24 hours to finish the 170 mile course. The race follows tough trails, back roads, bike paths, and other terrain through some beautiful areas of the state. Below is a cool video documenting last year’s race. Enjoy!
