Met up with the Scrubfest crew up at Togwotee Pass, Wyoming. Lots of splitboarders and backcountry riders. Logged about 20,000ft vertical this trip including a day inbounds at Jackson Hole resort. Here are the pictures.Terrain, Skinning and Scenics:
On the way to Scrubfest ‘07 we stopped off at Jackson Hole and rode a day at the resort. Great conditions after almost 9″ new the previous day. We were happy to not be driving and in the land of mass snow.
I think I took a total of 15 pictures this whole trip, normally I average around 200 per outing.. it was that good yesterday. Logged 10,000 vertical feet of completely untracked fresh powder. STE, Kya, Trevor, Rob, Andrew and myself took the widetrack, the mtn lite and the skidoo 1000 up for some hard work breaking trail and sick powder riding. Took 5 hours to build the road in the morning! It was worth it.

Slide kicked off by pow4brains and Kya:
Conditions in the trees were pretty stable, lots of windloading above and near tree line. We saw a few natural release slides and a couple of snowmobiler triggered runs as well. Be safe out in the backcountry. run beacon drills, check conditions, dig pits and watch out for the white death. N-NE facing, +30 degrees, below treeline.
A video that has some useful information on snowpit analysis. From Utah, Brighton backcountry.
STE and I spent all day Sunday breaking trail, building roads, scouting hut locations and slashing recycled pow. A couple of inches fresh on a firm base and light snow throughout the day made conditions much better than expected. After the 4 hour drive we needed it! Greybird and snowing most of the day and near white out conditions above treeline we stuck to the lower terrain and trees.
