Em and I went fishing up in Indian Peaks last night. It’s nice to leave town and be on the water in 45 minutes or so. After a mile or so hike we caught a couple of lake cuts and a small brookie. Spent the morning putting in another 5 or so hours working on the cabin with the crew. Long day!

Loading ...We got some major work done on the cabin this week, but I broke a fukkkkking window already! Got a good amount of the roof done, sealed the roof, built supports for the loft and bunks are set. Installed two windows, added frames on the inside of the new windows, new supports for the front half of the cabin, and framed out the front door.

Got a couple of small brookies (which were promptly released) and relaxed by the water. It was a clear and beautiful day. Note: Most trout are not native to Colorado, meaning only the Cutt-throat is native and protected by catch and release laws. We fish for fun and never harm a fish unless we are backpacking and camping. We promote no-harm fishing and support the trout re-population laws.

(4 votes, average: 5 out of 5) Loading ...Alex and I went up to do some recon in the park today and ended up hitting major pay dirt. 5 or 6 miles back we stopped at a calm alpine lake near treeline. Dry flied the mozzie all day, caught 3 or 4 really nice cuttthroats and a couple of nice brookies. After slaying the lake we made our way down to the outlet for some more action. Shots of some of the fish I got today. Alex caught a couple of nice size cutts and a brookie or two. 10 or 11 miles total on the day, Alex missed the turn off on the trail and put in an extra 3 or so! Beautiful day and amazing mostly Colorado native fish. Some pictures:
