Colorado Backcountry: Buffalo Pass - 12.02.2007
It was deep up at Buff Pass this weekend. Hit a tree on the Dragon, minor front end damage.. Took out the bumper, hood hinge and RH body panel and rivets.
Jordan and I got back north pretty far and almost had to hold up in a snow cave for the night. We had one last chance to rip out of this area as the sun was setting.. the 3 previous attempts to get out resulted in one or both of us getting stuck. We made it back to truck in the dark using the GPS after finding Buff Pass road.
Best day on snow ever, best boondocking and endless untracked powder.

Looked like a great day in the mountains. Some deep pow. Did you board at all? We got up there a couple days last year.

JP, looks fun. Digging sleds out is a better workout then split boarding anyway. When I read that TOWER got 18″ Saturday night I figured I’d be doing more digging then skiing up there.
I saw SPC cutting the road system up on Buff yesterday, that should draw some people up there.

You bet it is… I’m feeling guilty since I never snowboard anymore.. :)
Sledding is just too much fun… Buff is good to go for sure, tons of snow up there. The road was pretty good, we broke trail all
the way up..
