Colorado Backcountry: Rocky Mountain National Park - Trail Ridge Road - 05.27.2007
Jula and I went up to Rocky Mountain National Park today and scored 3000+ vert. We rolled through the gates around 5:45am and did not have to pay the park entrance fee, dropped our first line into Upper Hidden Valley at 8am. The snow was soft but not perfect yet, our second run in this area was great… Our third line we decided to drop Sundance Mountain Bowl which is almost a 1800ft snowfield down to Fall River Road. Once you get to the bottom, find the boot pack lookers left near the rocks. It was a great morning to go snowboarding. A few pictures from today….

Wow! I’ve biked Fall River Road and looked at those slopes you were climbing up and boarding down. Incredible. There’s something about arriving at ROMO just after the sun rises that gives me a good feeling. Excellent adventure JP!
