Backcountry Gear: Phazer MTN Lite + CFR Double D

The above picture shows the Phazer MTN Lite with CFR Double-D Rack and Dual Ski/Snowboard mounts. With the lack of storage on the Phazer this mod also provides ample space on the back of the tunnel for extra gas, cameras, gear, whatever. weknowsnow.com has CFR inventory in stock, please contact JP if you are interested or would like to place an order. Thanks and check out our friends at CFR!

yes it does.. but last trip i had some gear on the back of the tunnel under the cargo net.. without the cfr rack on and things were fine. if anything it is icy back there. gonna test it out this weekend and see what happens, might move the rack back further??

well i melted the cargo net! gonna have to put MCX exhaust on before you carry much gear back there. good thing i didnt bring the gas… but we needed it - ran into some dude 20 miles back out of gas. we sephened a gallon out of the mtn lite for him. hope he made it home!
my ski bros are stoked on the new dual CFR setup!!

Does the mountain lite have enough HP to carry gear and 2 guys back? I have been thinking about this sled but i am concerned about the lack of power. Right now i am on a 04 king cat that i really like but looking for something a little smaller. Also, have you tried the x-rack from extreme powder sports? If so why do you like the cfr setup?

we’ve done a couple of days where we tandem ride and tow another up the trail. its hard on the mtn lite but it can handle it. it’s best just tandem riding with two people, we use my friends articcat widetrack as the work horse/shuttle sled. i’m happy with the power but breaking trail of riding in super deep with 3 won’t work too well. never seen the x-rack, my friend with the wide track has a custom built rack that is similar in a few ways… the more gear you can carry the better on your rack, thats why i went with the CFR DD tunnel rack and ski/snowboard mounts….

I left this same comment on another blog, but myself and another buddy of mine ride/board vail pass and jones pass alot and both of us have sleds/racks/beacons/avalungs/etc and would love to hook up with your crew sometime if interested? I was up on vail pass that first saturday after the big dump a couple of weeks ago and most of the time was spend digging people out of the deep stuff, but when turns were made it was pretty sick.
